On December 13th, 2021 there was a once-in-a-lifetime event held in Utah County for girls in foster care and their CASAs. The event was organized by Jenna Rammel, aka @jennaskitchen, who is a sponsor for the Utah CASA Program. Having been adopted herself, Jenna has a special place in her heart for youth in Foster Care.
This event was a huge success thanks to the many women-owned local businesses who participated. Thanks also to RoofTop Lehi for donating the venue. The girls got to “shop” for super trendy clothes thanks to the clothing line @shopzoco clothing, Stella and Haas (@stellaandhaas) jewelry, a swimsuit (@raisingwild) and had a very lovely dinner. Erica said that Jenna gave them gift bags from her skincare line (@thedailyessentialco), @gigipip provided beanies, @lildipbananas hot chocolate bar and @theofficialcookieco cookies! and gift cards to Traverse Mountain Outlets for the CASAs.
The turnout was great, there were 80 CASAs and girls (age 14-18) in attendance. The girls walked in feeling awkward with their eyes down, but by the time they left they were all smiles and having made new friends! The CASAs kept coming up saying how much their girl loved the event and were just beaming. This was a life-changing event for most. It was super cool, we can’t thank Jenna enough for providing such a memorable experience for these teens.
Jenna’s Instagram followers, @jennaskitchen, also raised over $10,000 for future CASA activities and support!
